Suzan Rhoades joined the Ottawa University Instructional Design Team in October 2018. She earned her BA in Multicultural Education, with a minor in Mathematics, from Arizona State and later earned an MA in Technology Education from Northern Arizona University. She taught Educational Technology in the Educational Specialties Master of Education Program online for NAU before coming to Ottawa. As an NAU online instructor, Rhoades was responsible for building, maintaining, and facilitating her asynchronous courses in Blackboard. During this time, she earned her Quality Matters Peer Reviewer Certification.
In addition to her post-secondary experience, Rhoades flourished as a middle school math instructor for an online public charter school. In this role, she managed both asynchronous and synchronous instruction for an average of 150 students, served as a campus leader, and won two national awards from the school: one for classroom culture in Blackboard Collaborate and one for a professional development course she designed and presented to peer instructors across the nation.
Suzan is excited to bring this technology-rich background to Ottawa and work with an amazing team to provide stellar online content to our students.
